The ISC Interactive design team, Plus Interactive, began this project by listening to the needs of the staff at WORKFORCE plus.

Of course WORKFORCE plus wanted a new website that was visually compelling, but the new site had to further their objectives, and mission within our community.

Plus Interactive delivered a website that greatly improves WORKFORCE plus's ability to communicate with the businesses and potential employees that it serves. New job postings are prominently displayed, as well as workshops and educational opportunities.

Users are encouraged to sign-up for newsletters, get in touch with special programs offered for Veterans, or plug-in to the Youth programs through a special site for youth.

Behind all of the "up front" improvements in branding and communication, Plus Interactive was able to deliver a website that is easily maintained by the staff at WORKFORCE plus, ensuring that the website stays current.

Accountability in Healthcare

With consumers demanding more accountability from their health care providers across the nation, a number of states have developed websites as additional sources of information for consumers. Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), was legislatively mandated to provide consumer-friendly health care facility performance data to Florida’s citizens.

ISC operates a very successful solution for AHCA called FloridaCompareCare.gov. FloridaCompareCare is a consumer friendly web site that provides information for every hospital and ambulatory facility in the State of Florida. The FloridaCompareCare site experienced over 1,000,000 hits and over 23,000 visitors in the first three days of implementation and continues to have thousands of visitors each day.

Healthcare Transparency for Consumers

One of the most significant opportunities identified to reduce consumer’s health costs and stimulate provider and payer competition is to establish “transparency” in the health care system. Advocates of transparency believe that finding ways to make cost and quality of health care open and apparent to consumers will allow for a competitive market and help consumers make better choices in their selection of healthcare services. In this way, public performance reporting addresses two complementary objectives: improvement in quality of health care and public accountability. Many states have now undertaken measures to provide more “transparency” in the health care industry.  ISC, in partnership with Treo Solutions and 3M Healthcare is at the forefront of providing web-based solutions specifically targeted to both health care professionals and health care consumers.

Performance and Accessibility

Standardized performance metrics and outcome reports are easily accessible to both consumers and providers through a common web interface. ISC’s web solution allows consumers and providers to review specific health care facilities and conditions. This service provides empirical information that demonstrates the effectiveness of facilities for specific procedures.

The Federal EBA Program

The Enhanced Benefits Account Program (EBAP) is a component of Medicaid Reform. Beneficiaries are rewarded for engaging in healthy behaviors via accumula

For instance, if a beneficiary completes a weight loss or smoking cessation program, the beneficiary may earn credit in an Enhanced Benefit Account. An existing Agency program (Silver Saver) has been modified to provide point of sale functionality for the EBAP.

A process has been created to allow reform plans to electronically submit enhanced benefit healthy behavior data to the Agency.  This process allows for the submission of the files as well as assessment and manipulation of the files.

The EBIS System

EBIS is a means for reform plans as well as internal Agency resources to view the enhanced benefit account information of Medicaid Reform beneficiaries in a central location via the Internet.

EBIS acts as a data repository that houses healthy behavior activity information of Medicaid reform beneficiaries (as reported by their reform plans), Enhanced Benefit Account (EBA) purchases (as recorded in a PDCS system), and EBA balances.  EBIS accepts queries from its internal/external users and displays read-only result sets via a web browser.  EBIS is hosted by a third party vendor in a secure environment.

EBIS also accepts the debits spent at the pharmacy and keeps track of the recipients balance.  EBIS sends out monthly balance statements to the recipients, and provides additional reporting capabilities to the EBIS administrators.  EBIS provides an interface for which administrators can view each recipient’s information and transaction history in order to answer recipients’ questions and research their account information.

EBIS processes health plan transactions in order to allow recipients to earn credits for completing their regular health checkups.  The credits are allowed to be spent on health related items from the pharmacy.  EBIS collects and processes the health plan transactions and sends the credits earned to the pharmacy.

Prescribed Fire and Wildfire Management

The Fire Management Information System is a complex, distributed system that integrates several components running on a variety of servers.

Smoke Plume Analysis

When a prescribed fire is planned, the Forestry office will enter the location and area for the planned fire.  The system generates a smoke plume and displays it on a map of the location.  Burners may be asked to delay a burn if the smoke plume model indicates that, based on fuels at the location and current wind and weather conditions, the emissions from the burn will impact smoke sensitive areas.

Showcasing The Region

In August of 2008, ISC and the Economic Development Council launched an upgraded and re-designed website. The website, http://taledc.com, was designed by ISC’s Interactive Division and features an extensive MapDotNet component.

Geospatial Visualization

The Economic Development Website solution uses MapDotNet to combine your specific geospatial data with Microsoft Virtual Earth, the standard in Internet-based consumer mapping. From your website, users will be able to:

1. View your city, county, state, or region in 2D and 3D.
2. Toggle between traditional illustrated maps or aerial photography.
3. Search for properties by address or owner.
4. Visualize property parcels.
5. Overlay your geospatial data, such as school zones, land-use zones, population distributions, income distributions, age distributions, recreational trails or any other available data sets.
